In this step, you generate your own wage types for the wage type group Social insurance (1001), by copying the model wage types from the standard system.

These copies are the wage types you can use in further processing, and modify to suit your requirements.

All model wage types start with a letter. Your own wage types, that is the copies, must begin with a number. In this step, basically only wage types in the wage type group Social insurance are proposed for copying.

Note

  • For information on creating customer wage types using prototypes or by copying the wage type catalogs in the standard R/3 system, see the steps "Create wage types using prototypes" and"Create wage types using wage type catalogs" in the Personnel Administration section of the Implementation Guide (IMG).

  • Note that the copies of model wage types, that is your wage types, have both the same characteristics as the model wage types with regard to processing in dialog as well as in payroll. You can check and, if necessary, modify the your wage type characteristics in the subsequent steps.

Caution

Only use the name range reserved for your customer wage types (wage types that begin with a number). Never copy wage types to the area reserved for SAP model wage types (all wage types that start with a letter or a symbol).

Standard settings

The following model wage types are used in the standard system.

Wage type MU40 can be used to set up reimbursement contributions for each employee to the employee fund. The reimbursement amount is then displayed on the statement of contributions according to §10 of the LFZG.

Wage types MU50 and MU60 are used to record multiple employment for social insurance purposes. The multiple employee (SI attribute 22 in the social insurance infotype must be set) must be given the current salary (MU50) using the Recurring Payments/ Deductions infotype (0014) and the non- recurring payments (MU60) of the other employer using the Additional Payments, infotype 0015.

By using the wage type MU70, you can enter a supplementary amount up to this threshold for part-time employees who have done without freedom from pension insurance and have regular remuneration below the minimum assessment threshold base. Payroll then calculates the contributions to be paid from this.

Activities

To copy the wage types in the wage type group Social Insurance, please proceed as follows:

  1. Choose Copy in the Wage Type Maintenance dialog window.

The Copy wage types screen appears.

    • The Test run function is active. You should carry out a test run first.
    • To make the wage type copier productive, you must first deactivate the Test run function.
  2. Check whether you want to add further wage types to the proposed wage types, and if necessary, enter further sample wage types in the OWType (original wage type) field.
  3. Enter the user wage types that you want to create by copying the model wage types. To do this, you have the following options:

    Manual assignment

For each model wage type, enter a name for your new wage type in the CWType (Customizing wage type) field, and choose Continue.

    Automatic assignment

    1. Select the wage types that you want to copy, and choose the CWType button (automatic assignment of Customizing wage types).
    2. You will now branch to the Wage type maintenance dialog window.
    3. Enter the data you require, and choose Continue.
  4. If necessary, adapt the long and short texts of the copy wage types to suit your requirements.
  5. Select the wage types you want to copy, and choose Copy.
