The Additional Information on Basic Pay infotype (0304) enables you to control the following functions in the system:

  • Grant higher age or seniority level

    With the Performance level indicator, the system assigns the next-highest seniority or age level to the employee for the validity period of the infotype record. This is used to reward high performance by a public sector employee (see. § 27 par. 3 Public Sector Remuneration Act).

  • Temporary restriction of age level increase

    The Temporary restriction indicator blocks the reassignment of an employee to a higher age level during the specified period. This function can be used as a disciplinary measure for public sector employees. When the temporary restriction has expired, the employee data is reset as if the restriction had not been applied. The employee then has the same age or seniority level as he or she would have had if the restricition had not been imposed.

  • Permanent restriction of age level increase

    If the Permanent restriction indicator is set, the reassignment is postponed for the specified period. You can impose this restriction if, for example, the employee's work is not satisfactory (see § 27 par. 3 Public Sector Remuneration Act). In contrast to the temporary restriction, this restriction can be permanent: the 'skipped' reassignment of age or seniority level is not recovered when the restriction is removed. All subsequent age or seniority levels are also reached later (delay is equal to the validity period of the restriction).

  • Percentage reduction of pay

    If you enter a numerator/denominator combination in the Additional Information on Basic Pay infotype (0304), you can reduce the employee's pay by a percentage. This can be used as a disciplinary measure or if the pay is reduced to 90% for ABM employees (job creation schemes). However, it is not used for part-time employees. The inclusion and indirect valuation in the Basic Pay infotype is carried out by the system automatically in the background. In the section Define Reduction Methods, you can specify which wage types are included in this reduction.

Further notes

The Additional Information on Basic Pay infotype (0304) is used together with the Basic Pay infotype (0008). When you create a record for the Additional Information on Basic Pay infotype, the system splits the Basic Pay infotype into the same period so that the same time restrictions are used.

If the Basic Pay infotype is delimited further, note that the delimitations must also be applied to the validity period for the Additional Information on Basic Pay infotype to ensure that the indirect valuation is still correct.

The Additional Information on Basic Pay infotype is not used to reduce the wage types for part-time employment. Part-time employees are entered and maintained in the Basic Pay infotype (0008) using a numerator/denominator combination for the working time.

The Additional Information on Basic Pay infotype is imported and evaluated for the age level reassignment by report RPITUM00. If a restriction exists for an employee, the age-level reassignments that are due are not performed by report RPITUM00.
