The authorization for each child that is to be included in the calculation of the difference amount for the family-related bonus (§ 50 BeamtVG) is stored in the Family infotype (0021) (subtype 2) for the pension holder. This is because all children who have an entitlement are only taken into account if this information is stored for the pension holder when the difference amount is calculated.
The same family-related bonus entitlements can be retained when the public sector employee retires. It is not necessary to delimit the Family infotype (0021). If an active or retired public sector employee dies, and payment of the surviving dependants' pension commences, the system must know whether the difference amount is to be paid to the widow (if she is entitled to the child allowance for these children, she is entitled to receive payment of the difference amount in addition to the widow's pension) or to the children themselves. For this differentiation, you require at least one entry each with the the internal key 4 or 5.
In this step, you maintain the specifications and texts for the entitlements to family-related bonuses.
Example
A retired public sector worker dies and leaves a widow and two children from the present marriage, and a child from a previous marriage becomes an orphan. The widow is entitled to the family-related allowance for the two half-orphans; the orphaned child from the previous marriage is entitled to the difference amount for him/herself. In this case, a specification with the internal key 4 must be assigned to the orphan from the previous marriage, and a specification with the internal key 5 must be assigned to the two half-orphans.
Activities
In the Family Characteristics view, place the cursor on the characteristic 2 and note the new internal keys 4, 5, and 6.

- Maintain the texts and specifications for family-bonus entitlements.
- Choose Save.
Further notes
At the moment, the same characteristic type is used for child allowance entitlements and family-related bonus entitlements. The child allowance is paid to the pension recipient using the SAP standard procedure. The child allowance entitlement and payment data for child allowance are stored for the pension recipient. As a result, when the difference amount and child allowance are paid to a widow, the entitlement to family-related bonuses is assigned to the pension holder, however, the entitlement to child allowance is assigned to the widow. The Family infotype must also be created for the widow with the name(s) of the child(ren), since this is also required for the Child Allowance Entitlement infotype (0118).
