Pension recipients who received an increase amount on February 28, 1997 in accordance with §14 (2) of the Public Sector Pensions Act (BeamtVG) as valid at that time (DM 17.30), will continue to receive this amount with the condition that it is reduced by 50% with the next general increase of pension payments. If an additional general increase of pension payments is implemented, the remaining increase amount becomes invalid (excerpt from Reform Act).
In payroll accounting, the increase amount is generated if a pension started before February 28, 1997, and the calculation of the pension is based on a cost-of-living allowance, level 2.
In this step, you must store the increase amount for each combination of pay scale type and pay scale area. This is stored under the grouping 5, without pay scale group and level, and under wage type /OVE.
Example
In the period from January 01, 1990 to February 28, 1997, the increase amount for pay scale type 35 (salary scale A), and pay scale area 20 (former West Germany) is DM 17.30. From March 01, 1997 to June 30, 1998, the increase amount is DM 8.65, and after this date, the increase amount no longer applies. The required table entries are as follows:
Grpg Wage type Start date End date Amount
5 /OVE 01.01.1990 28.02.1997 17.30DM
5 /OVE 01.03.1997 30.06.1998 8.65DM
5 /OVE 01.07.1998 31.12.9999 0.00DM
Standard settings
The statutory fixed increase amount (in accordance with §14 (2) BeamtVG) of DM 17.30 (or DM 8.65) is predefined in the system with the corresponding validity periods.
Activities
- Maintain or check the increase amount as described in the above example.
- Choose Save.
Further notes
Even when the increase amount is invalid, an entry must still exist with an amount of DM 0.00.
