In this IMG activity, you assign a key to those absence types that must be handled separately when calculating a continued pay and sick pay supplement period. These include absences for the following reasons:
- Work accident or accident on the way to/from work, occupational illness
- Illness after sterilization or termination of a pregnancy
- Preventive medicine or rehabilitation measures (cures)
The absence types for these absences must be assigned a key in accordance with the attendance/absence category for payroll, so that the system also correctly determines the continued pay and sick pay supplement periods in these cases.
Example
Public Sector:
The first time an employee is unable to work due to a work accident or an occupational illness, the sick pay supplement period is 26 weeks irrespective of the length of employment (Section § 37, paragraph 6 of the Collective Agreement for the Public Sector (BAT)). To enable the system to determine this sick pay supplement period irrespective of the length of employment, you must assign the key 2 to the relevant absence types.
If an employee is unable to work due to sterilization or termination of a pregnancy, a sick pay supplement is not paid after the continued pay (Section § 37, paragraph 3, letter c BAT). You must assign the key 3 to these absence types, so that the system specifies a sick pay supplement period of 0 days here.
The first two weeks of a preventive medicine or rehabilitation measure are excluded from the sick pay supplement period (Section § 37, paragraph 4, subparagraph 3 BAT). To prevent the system from including the first two weeks of a cure in the sick pay supplement period, you must assign the key 9 to the absence types for these measures.
Requirements
You must maintain the special periods with the absence categories 2, 3 or 9 in the view V_T5D71_S (Period Calculation). You can check these periods in the process step Maintain fixed periods. The standard SAP system already contains the relevant table entries (see the key in the Abs/Att column).
Standard settings
In the standard SAP system, the following absence types have already been assigned a key in accordance with the absence category:
- 0220 Cure
- 0270 Work Accident
