In this step, you select a check digit procedure that the SAP System can use to check the correctness of the insurance number in the
VBL/SPF Data infotype (0051). The system checks the last digit of the insurance number against the stored number using a specific algorithm and if the entries are inconsistent, an error message is displayed.
The model entries 01 and 02 are coded with the check digit procedure 01 (VBL procedure). The model entry 03 does not use a check digit procedure (this means that the field is blank).
Recommendation
Only use a check digit procedure if it corresponds exactly to the requirements of the SPF to which the registration is to be sent. For information on the check digit procdure, see the SAP Library under Payroll Germany -> Public Sector.
Activities
In the overview of SPF tables, select the SP indicators for which you want to set up a check digit procedure.
Access the detail view and, in the Check digit procedure field, enter a valid key figure. If you do not want to use a check digit procedure, leave the field blank.
