In this step, you define reduction formulas for wage types that are entered using infotype 0008 Basic Pay or 0014 Recurring Payments/Deductions.
Since wage types from infotype 0008 Basic Pay are created for each partial period when changes made in infotype 0001 Organizational Assignment or 0008 Basic Pay are not made at the beginning of a period, these wage types must be reduced by factors created on the basis of the partial periods.
Wage types from infotype 0014 Recurring Payments/Deductions, however, are set up just once per period. For this reason, reduction factors can only be used for these wage types on the basis of a complete period.
Standard Settings
The following formula is included with the standard system for reducing basic pay wage types on the basis of partial periods:

Period working time according to the personal work schedule
This factor is available in secondary wage type /801 in the standard R/3 System.
Two formulas are included with the standard system for reducing wage types entered via infotype 0014 Recurring Payments/Deductions.

This factor is available in secondary wage type /804.
- Factor = 0 if no paid attendance hour exists or
Factor = 1 (ie. no reduction) if at least one paid hour exists in the payroll accounting period
This factor is available in secondary wage type /806.
Actions
- Check which reduction formulas you need.
- Copy standard personnel calculation rule DPPF to personnel calculation rule ZPPF. Change personnel calculation rule ZPPF so that it accesses personnel calculation rule ZPP0 instead of DPP0.
- Copy standard personnel calculation rule DPP0 to personnel calculation rule ZPP0. Change personnel calculation rule ZPP0 so that it accesses personnel calculation rule ZPP1 instead of DPP1.
- Copy standard personnel calculation rule DPP1 to personnel calculation rule ZPP1. Change the reduction formulas in personnel calculation rule ZPP1 to meet your requirements.
- Change schema DAL0 so that it accesses ZPPF instead of DPPF.
Note
If you do not need to change the standard formulas, skip the above activities.
Further notes
If you use the reduced hours/winter compensation function, you must take this into account in your reduction formulas.
