Within the groups commercial/technical salaried employees and industrial workers, the employees are assigned to benefits groups in the income survey. The decision to which benefits group an employee belongs can be made directly dependent of his pay scale classification. The income survey for the German State Offices of Statistics distinguishes 3 different benefits groups for the industrial workers and 5 for the salaried employees. In this chapter, you determine which benefits groups should be assigned to the pay scale classifications.

Example

The income survey assigns salaried employees, who practise a responsible activity with limited planning authorization, to benefits group 2.
Salaried employees who practise this activity have the pay scale classification as an example:

Pay scale type: 02 Metal
Pay scale area: 05 Nordrhein-Westfalen
Pay scale indicator: 3 Salaried employees
Pay scale group: K1
Pay scale level: 1

For this pay scale classification, benefits group 2 is to be assigned:

Further notes

Consider that industrial workers can have the benefits groups 1-3, salaried employees the benefits groups 2-5.
