In this step, you set up the rules for the payment of a 13th month's income for the individual employee subgroup groupings.

Requirements

You have set up the pay scale area groupings for the 13th month's income.

Standard settings

The standard SAP system contains sample entries which applied to the former West Germany in 1996 and 1997/98 for the 13th month's income in the collective agreement for the construction industry.

Activities

Set up a rule for the payment of a 13th month's income as follows:

  1. Choose a pay scale area group for the 13th month's income for which you want to set up rules.
  2. Choose an employee subgroup grouping for construction industry pay.
  3. Enter a validity period.
  4. Specify a wage type that can be used to override automatic calculation during payroll in the block 'Individual requirements'.
  5. In the block entitled 'Determination time period', enter the months you want to use as deduction and payment months. Enter the appropriate storage wage types.
  6. Under 'calculation data', specify the calculation basis for the 13th month's income. The standard R/3 system contains a variety of calculation formulas which require additional entries. Make entries in the remaining fields as required.

Special features in calculation rule 05

With the calculation rule 05 the 13th month's income is reduced, if the employee was sick in the course of the year or had absence without leave. The following additional customizing settings are essential for this.

View Absence Valuation: Averages / Constants
Every evaluation rule which should reduce the 13 month's income owing to illness, must create the internal wage type / bwl.
Every evaluation rule which should reduce the 13 month's income owing to absence without leave, must create the internal wage type / bwl.

Payment of 13th monthly income in two periods

If you would like the 13th monthly income paid in two periods, you have to fill in the following fields: 2nd payment month, wage type for 2nd payment and percentage for 1st payment.

Accessing Rule

The following should be observed when accessing a rule. The first payment occurs in the calculation month. The remaining amount is stored in the wage type /bwp. The wage type /bwp is transfered from period to period up to the second payment month. When the rule is accessed only the partial amount appears in the header line. Should the calculated 100% of the 13th monthly income be changed in a rule, then wage type /bwp should be considered.
