If your company owns or rents hostels to accommodate its employees at their place of work, you must make the necessary settings in this step.

  1. Cost assignment:

    Since hostels of this kind normally provide meals, costs are assigned to a fixed cost accounting object.
    This object usually depends on the construction site at the place of employment.

  2. Data on overnight stay:
    1. You must define the statement wage type for accommodation for expenses incurred due to an overnight stay in a hostel.
    2. You must also specify the costs incurred.
      3. If the accommodation provided by the employer is construction site accommodation, by which is meant a building not fixed to the ground, input tax cannot be deducted from the costs retained.

If an accommodation type and a hostel are specified in the Construction Pay: Expenses infotype, the hostel is given the higher priority for processing during the payroll run.

Accommodation expenses entered individually in this infotype override the default amount in the table.
