In this step, you maintain the different authorization profiles which define the authorizations of the individual users. Profiles contain authorization objects for delimited working areas with the corresponding authorizations. You specify the authorization profile for a user in the user master record.

Default Settings

A general profile is created as an example in the standard SAP R/3 System, which includes all authorizations for creating statements.

Model profile with all authorizations:

P_CRF_ALL    General authorization for statements

Recommendation

If you define your own profiles, the names should start with the letters "Y" or "Z" since these name ranges are reserved for the customer in the standard SAP System.

Actions

  1. Check the standard profiles.
  2. If these profiles are not sufficient, you define new profiles for the individual user groups according to your requirements. To do this, use the standard sample profiles.
  3. Group the authorizations together to one profile.

Further notes

You transport profiles as follows:

  1. Display the profiles list.
  2. Choose "Profile - Transport".
  3. Select the profiles you wish to transport.
  4. Confirm your selections and enter the correction number.
