When you have set up the statement identifiers, you can group them into statement groups and assign a group identifier to the group. If you trigger printing of a statement group at a later point, all statements assigned to this group are printed and you only need to specify the group identifier.

By creating statement groups, you can process complex, statement-relevant data. For example, you can maintain an overview form and several separate detailed forms that appear as individual statements from the point of view of the user.

Example

You want to create a statement for a retirement pension. The retirement pension is funded by several benefits providers.
The statement consists of several parts:

  • A letter that gives an overview of all benefit types for the person in question irrespective of the benefits providers.
  • A detailed sheet for each benefits provider showing which data is assigned to each benefits provider.

Recommendation

Activities

Assign detail IDs to a group identifier. By specifying the form numbers, you define the print sequence.

The specification of a benefits provider or benefits provider type instructs the selection report to only retrieve the statement data that matches the pre-defined

values for the benefits provider or type when the group entry is processed. If no entry is made in these fields, the selection is unrestricted.

Further notes

If an entry is made without specification of a detail identifier, it always refers to the group identifier. The SAPscript form stored for the group identifer in the step Set Up Statement Parameters can only be processed by the statement driver if such an entry exists.
