In this step, you define processing types for pension calculation using the report RPCWVSD0 (Pension calculation).
You use the processing type to define the report selection screen and selection conditions.
Processing status:
A processing status is assigned to every processing type. The processing status describes the trigger or reason for pension calculation:
- 1: Pension calculation
- 2: VE calculation
- 3: Cyclical pension rights
- 4: Calculation of vested interest
Every run of the pension calculation report (RPCWVSD0) is stored in the CPS database upon specifying the processing status.
In the step, Permissibility of Actions in Pension Calculation you can determine the sequence of the processing status.
Trigger date:
Pensions or entitlements must be valuated for a key date. This key date is the trigger date.
You can decide how the trigger date is determined for every processing type:
- By entering in the report selection screen
- Using the date on which report RPCWVSD0 is executed (pension calculation)
- Using a function module
Determining the trigger date using a function module requires a personnel action (Actions infotype), that triggers pension calculation. The actions Leaving und Retirement are typical examples. Function modules are available in the standard system for both these actions, which return the date the action was performed on to report RPCWVSD0. This date then serves as the trigger date.
Personnel number selection:
Report RPCWVSD0 can be started for an individual personnel number or a range of personnel numbers depending on the processing type.
Run options:
Depending on the processing type, you can determine if only a test run should be performed or if a live run with a change in the database should be performed.
Selection:
Depending on the processing type, you can determine if it is possible to select directly in the report selection screen according to
entitlements, payment types or vested payments.
Example
You want to set up your own processing type Retirement pension. The trigger date for pension calculation should be the employee's retirement date. It should not be possible to execute the Pension calculation report with the processing type Retirement pension for only one, but for a whole range of personnel numbers (from - to).
In this case, you first of all create the new processing type Retirement pension.
- In the detail screen for the processing type, you choose the using function option in the Trigger date group and enter the SAP function module D1 (Determine retirement date). This causes the pension to be calculated on the date of the Retirement personnel action for the employee.
- In the Personnel number selection group, you choose the option Several personnel numbers. This makes it possible to select a range of personnel numbers for the Retirement pension processing type.

In the standard system, processing types are already set up for the most common processes.
Recommendation
Activities
- Check if the processing types available are sufficient for pension calculation in your enterprise.
- If necessary, modify the processing types to meet your requirements.
- If necessary, create more processing types. To do so, you can copy a processing type and then modify it.
