The screen control enables the dynamic design of the appearance of screens that are processed in an ESS transaction.
In this section, you can define the settings for the screens 0100 (list screen) and 0200 (detail screen) of the deferred compensation ESS scenario. The assignment of a variable key (a key field whose contents can be freely chosen) allows the maintenance of multiple different field controls for a screen. To determine the variable key, a feature can be specified that uses the PMESS feature structure. The return value of the feature defines the variable key, which is in one of the following entries and contains the actual information for the field control.
Example
On the detail screen, you want to hide the 'Percentage' field for a conversion model.
If one does not exist, create a basic entry for the standard screen 0200 (basic entry means that the variable key is initial). Enter the feature whose return value forms the variable key under which the control information is located. Maintain the feature. Note that field SUBTYP of feature structure PMESS corresponds with the entitlement and field OBJPS of the conversion type.
Create a second entry for screen 0200 and enter the variable key in question. For field P0263-WPRZN (percentage for conversion), encode the "Hidden" property.
Standard settings
Recommendation
Use the field control to configure the appearance of the user interface so that it as user-friendly as possible for the ESS user by hiding obsolete fields.
Activities
Adapt the appearance of the list screen or the detail screen of the ESS scenario to suit your requirements. Maintain the properties of the field groups. You can use the radio buttons to define any of the following for screen fields:
- Hide screen fields
- Specify the "Mandatory Field" attribute (only useful for fields that are ready for input)
- Specify the "Optional Field" attribute (only useful for fields that are ready for input)
- Specify that the fields are for display purposes only and are not for data entry
Further notes
Note the following points:
- For information about features, see 'Application Help' for the feature maintenance, for example.
- Make sure that a basic entry with an initial variable key exists for screen 0100 and screen 0200.
