In this step, you define possible calculation variants for an entitlement. You can enter the calculation variants that you create here in the CPS Entitlements infotype as calculation variants for the entitlement. You set up the additional rules on the calculation variant in the step Create Entitlements and in the section Administration of Calculation Method.
Example
On January 01, 1999, an industrial employee becomes a salaried employee. The agreed entitlements to a pension plan (Entitlements infotype) should be retained, however the calculation method is different for salaried employees. In this case, you can set up a calculation variant which will be used if an employee changes from an industrial employee to a salaried employee.
Activities
Decide which calculation variants are required for which entitlements.
Create the calculation variants for the entitlement.
