In this Customizing activity, you define a calendar month to adjust the social average salary for a contribution area of public housing fund (PHF). You also specify an effective period for this switch period. The system uses the social average salary for relevant PHF calculations.
If you do not define the social average salary switch period for PHF for a specific effective period, the system uses the PHF contribution switch period instead. You define the PHF contribution switch period in Customizing for Payroll under Payroll: China -> Master Data -> Public Housing Fund -> Contribution Area -> Maintain PHF Contribution Switch Period.

Example
For the contribution area of Shanghai, you have set the switch period to July, effective from 01.01.2012 to 31.12.9999.
As a result, before July in 2012, the enterprise adopts the social average salary of 2010 in Shanghai. From July 2012 to June 2013, the enterprise adopts the social average salary of 2011 in Shanghai.
