In this step, you assign the Business Numbers in your enterprise to the payroll constants that you defined in the previous IMG step.

Activities

  1. Execute this IMG step. In the subsequent dialog box, specify Business Number type RC.
  2. On the next screen, choose New entries.
  3. In the maintenance screen, enter the following data.
    1. Under the Reg.Number column, enter the Registration Number portion of your Business Number. This entry corresponds to the first nine digits of that number.
    2. Under the Type column, enter the account type that corresponds to the Registration Number entered, that is:

      RP - for CRA Business Numbers
    3. Under the Accnr column, enter the Account Number portion of your Business Number. This entry corresponds to the last four digits of that number.
    4. Under the Constant column, enter the reduced rate constant (defined in the previous IMG step) that corresponds to the Business Number at hand.
  4. Repeat step 3. until all applicable Business Numbers have been assigned to reduced rate constants. Then save your entries and exit this IMG step.

Example

You would like to assign reduced employer EI premium rates of 1.11 and 1.26 to Business Numbers 123456789RP0123 and 123456789RP4567, respectively. In the previous IMG step, you have assigned payroll constant T7531 to the reduced rate of 1.11 and payroll constant T7532 to the reduced rate of 1.26.

To accommodate the example above, you would therefore make the following entries in this IMG step:
