In this step, you perform four separate activities. In the first activity, you define the file path to which the system should write year-end magnetic media file data in non-XML formats. In the second activity, you define the country codes that the system will use, regardless of format, during Magnetic Media Filing. In the third activity, you define the file paths that the system will use in conjunction with Magnetic Media Filing in XML format - both for reporting to the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and for reporting to le Ministère du Revenu du Québec (MRQ). In the fourth activity, which is optional, you can modify the physical file name of the initial XML file that the system will use during Magnetic Media Filing to CRA and MRQ.
Note
If your enterprise will perform Magnetic Media Filing in non-XML format, then you must perform the first and second activities. If your enterprise will perform Magnetic Media Filing in XML format, then you must perform the first, second and third activities, and you may perform the fourth activity, if desired.
Standard settings
In relation to Magnetic Media Filing, the standard system is delivered as follows.
For Magnetic Media Filing in non-XML format, the standard system supports UNIX and Windows NT file syntaxes.
For Magnetic Media country codes, the standard system is delivered with two codes - CAN for Canada, and USA for the United States.
For Magnetic Media Filing in XML format, the standard system supports UNIX and Windows NT file syntaxes and enables the definition of four file paths, which permit it to:
Download XML Magnetic Media to the application server
Download XML Magnetic Media to the presentation server
Access the XML schema from the application server
Access the XML schema from the presentation server
For Magnetic Media Filing in XML format, the standard system defines SAP001.xml as the physical file name of the initial XML file.
Activities
Execute this IMG step; in the subsequent dialog box, choose the first activity:
Non-XML: Define Magnetic Media file path SAP_YER_PATH
On the subsequent screen, select Position.
In the dialog box thereafter, enter SAP_YER_PATH in the Logical path field, then choose Continue.
Highlight the resultant table entry, then select the Assignment of physical paths to logical path level.
Highlight the table entry of the file syntax in which year-end data is to be written, then select Details (F2) from the application toolbar.
On the subsequent screen, enter the appropriate file path for year-end magnetic media file data in the Physical path field.
Save your entries, then exit the activity.
In the dialog box, proceed to the second activity:
Non-XML and XML: Define Magnetic Media country codes
On the subsequent screen, select PView -> Table Maintenance to review the standard structure of feature 07ISO,shown below:
Variable key C D Operations
000010 D LAND1 000020 CA &07ISO=CAN, 000030 US &07ISO=USA,
For every affiliate of your enterprise located in a country other than Canada or the United States that acts as a transmitter for Magnetic Media, add additional lines to this feature to associate the two-letter ISO-3166 country code with its three-letter equivalent.
For example, if your enterprise is headquartered in Australia with subsidiaries in Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States, and if each of these affiliates are transmitting Magnetic Media to Canadian tax authorities, you would modify feature 07ISO to read as follows:
Variable key C D Operations
000010 D LAND1 000020 CA &07ISO=CAN, 000030 US &07ISO=USA, 000040 AU &07ISO=AUS, 000050 NZ &07ISO=NZL, 000060 GB &07ISO=GBR,
Note A complete list of three-letter ISO-3166 country codes can be obtained from the United Nations Statistics Division at http://www.un.org/depts/unsd/methods/m49alpha.htm.
Select Feature -> Save to save the modified feature.
Generate the feature, then exit the activity.
In the dialog box, proceed to the third activity:

On the subsequent screen, select Position.
In the dialog box thereafter, enter HRCA in the Logical path field, then choose Continue.
Highlight the table entry HRCA_CRA_XML_FILE_TO_APPSERV, then select the Assignment of physical paths to logical path level.
On the next screen, highlight the table entry of the appropriate file syntax, then select Details (F2).
On the following screen, in the Physical path field, enter the file path to which the system shall download XML Magnetic Media for CRA reporting to the application server.
Save your entry, then return to the Logical file path definition screen.
Highlight the table entry HRCA_CRA_XML_FILE_TO_FRONTEND, then repeat step 3c. to specify the file path to which the system shall download XML Magnetic Media for CRA reporting to the presentation server.
Highlight the table entry HRCA_CRA_XML_SCHEMA_FROM_APPSERV, then repeat step 3c. to specify the file path from which the system shall access, for CRA reporting, the XML schema for the application server.
Highlight the table entry HRCA_CRA_XML_SCHEMA_FROM_FRONTEND, then repeat step 3c. to specify the file path from which the system shall access, for CRA reporting, the XML schema for the presentation server.
Highlight the table entry HRCA_MRQ_XML_FILE_TO_APPSERV, then repeat step 3c. to specify the file path to which the system shall download XML Magnetic Media for MRQ reporting to the application server.
Highlight the table entry HRCA_MRQ_XML_FILE_TO_FRONTEND, then repeat step 3c. to specify the file path to which the system shall download XML Magnetic Media for MRQ reporting to the presentation server.
Highlight the table entry HRCA_MRQ_XML_SCHEMA_FROM_APPSERV, then repeat step 3c. to specify the file path from which the system shall access, for MRQ reporting, the XML schema for the application server.
Highlight the table entry HRCA_MRQ_XML_SCHEMA_FROM_FRONTEND, then repeat step 3c. to specify the file path from which the system shall access, for MRQ reporting, the XML schema for the presentation server.
Exit the activity.
If you do not wish to configure the fourth activity of this IMG step, which is optional, then exit this IMG step, then proceed with configuration. Otherwise, proceed to the fourth activity in the dialog box:

On the subsequent screen, select Position.
In the dialog box thereafter, enter HRCA in the Logical file field, then choose Continue.
Highlight the table entry HRCA_CRA_XML_FILE_NAME_APPSERV, then select Details (F2).
On the following screen, in the Physical file field, enter the file name to which the system shall initially download XML Magnetic Media from the application server for CRA reporting.
When finished, save your entry, then return to the previous screen.
Caution The standard name of this file is SAP001.xml. If you elect to replace this name, your new file name may consist of any alphanumeric combination, but it must end in the characters 001. For example, you may enter FINDANNEE001.xml, 2004T4001.xml, or B001.xml here. You may not enter 2004T4.xml or B.xml. However, if you send a second submission at a later date, then you must reconfigure the file name such that it ends in the characters 002.
