Continuous sick pay processing is based on the policies of the plan(s) in effect at your company. In this step, you define the durations of the 3 sick pay periods in your company's plans. In the second activity in this step, you will then maintain feature 07MSP (Sick Pay Modifier) to assign the appropriate sick pay plans to the personnel subareas to which they apply. The assigned plans correspond to the plans in the first activity of this step.
Example
Your CSP plan allows for 3 sick pay periods. If an employee has 0 years of service, the 1st period lasts 1 week, the 2nd period lasts 25 weeks, and the 3rd period lasts one week. If an employee has 1 year of service, the 1st sick pay period lasts 2 weeks, the second lasts 24 weeks, and the third period lasts 1 week. Your entries would be as follows:
CSP plans allow for 3 sick pay periods. Usually, the employee receives all (or a higher) percentage of their pay in the first period, then decreasing percentages in the next 2 periods. The duration of each period is dependent on the length of service the employee has with the company. In the SAP system the length of service is recorded as service units.
In the view, make entries for each level of service defined in your CSP plan.
In feature 07MSP, assign your plans to the appropriate personnel subareas.
