In this step, you can change the sequence numbers of the identification number of a record.

The identification number is an 18-digit number, where:

  • The first 15 digits of the record identification number are split into 4 sequence numbers:
    • Sequence number 1 (position 1-6) is incremented by 1 when the SI number changes,
    • Sequence number 2 (position 7-8) is incremented by 1 when the employee category changes,
    • Sequence number 3 (position 9-13) is incremented by 1 when the personnel number changes,
    • Sequence number 4 (position 14-15) is incremented by 1 at each change of remuneration type, assimilated day, and/or period.
  • The last 3 digits refer to the level or block number of the record. The content of the first 15 digits depends on the value of the level. The number starts at 0 in the tape header records and ends at 9 in the tape ending record.

The following values are possible:

  • Z: reset sequence number,
  • 0: leave sequence number unchanged,
  • 1: increment sequence number by 1,
  • 9: set sequence number to 9.
