Use

In this Customizing activity, you define the characters generated for each relevant period of an absence period. The relevant period may be marked as having the guaranteed monthly wage paid. These groups of characters are later associated with valuation rules, that generate wage types in payroll function PAB. Normally, a pair of wage types containing the hours and the days corresponding to each absence is generated.

Requirements

Standard settings

You define values for the Absence splitting (T5BP4) table in this activity.

Activities

Example

The following table outlines the Customizing values for successive illnesses experienced by an employee not in his probationary period (absence processing modifier 1).

Moabw    ansta    Modif    Mod. text    Abs.cat    Seq.no.    No. days.     Bkode(valuation)     GMW

12    1    1    not in prob prd     Z    1    7     2     X

12    1    1    not in prob prd     Z    2    7     3     X

12    1    1    not in prob prd     Z    3    16     4

12    1    1    not in prob prd     Z    4    335     5

12    1    1    not in prob prd     Z    5    9999    I

The table values can be explained as follows:

  • The first absence (row 1) lasts for 7 days and generates the code Z2; the GMW is paid for this sequence (as indicated by the X)
  • The second absence (row 2) starts after 7 days, lasts for 7 days and generates the code Z3; the GMW is paid for this sequence
  • The third absence (row 3) starts after 14 days, lasts for 16 and generates the code Z4; the GMW is not paid
  • The fourth absence (row 4) starts after 30 days, lasts for 335 days (until the end of the first year of absence) and generates the code Z5
  • The fifth absence (row 5) starts after one year and has no end date (there is no other distinct period in this absence) and generates the code ZI
