In this section you define reduction formulas for wage types entered in infotypes 0008, Basic Pay or 0014, Recurring Payments/ Deductions.

Since wage types from the Basic Pay infotype are formed for every period if changes are made to infotype 0001, Org.Assignment or to the Basic Pay infotype at any time other than the start of the period, these wage types must be reduced by factors formed for partial periods.

By contrast, wage types from the Recurring Payments/Deductions infotype are only formed once per period. For this reason, only reduction factors for aggregate periods can be used with these wage types.

Standard settings

The standard SAP system contains the following formula for partial period reduction of basic pay wage types:

  • Factor =

Planned working time (partial period) - unpaid absence (partial period)

    divided by

Monthly working time according to personal work schedule

The standard system contains two formulas for the reduction of wage types entered in infotype 0014, Recurring Payments/Benefits.

  • Factor =

Planned working (whole month) - unpaid absence (whole month)

    divided by

Monthly working time according to personal work schedule

  • Factor = 0, if there are no paid attendance hours or

Factor = 1 (no reduction), if there is at least one paid hour in the payroll period

Action

  1. Check which reduction formulas you require.
  2. Copy standard calculation rule BPPF and rename it ZPPF.
  3. Change the access code in schema BAL0 from BPPF to ZPPF

Note

  • If you do not need to make any changes to the standard formulas you can skip the above actions.
  • For comprehensive information on monthly factoring, please see the concept manual on payroll accounting in the section Payroll Modifications.
