In this activity you flag the absences that are to have special handling in social insurance for the public sector.
The standard SAP system offers the following special handling for the SI calculation in the public sector:
- Grace period with cession of payments
The minimum contribution basis is not applied for the entire month. - Grace period up to 1 month.
An SI split is generated for this absence. The employee pays the employer's SI contributions. - Grace period with grace period vacation bonus
An SI split is generated for this absence. The employer pays the employee's SI contributions. - Grace period with continuation of insurance
An SI split is generated for this absence. The employee pays the employer's SI contributions. - Reduction/cession/waiver of payments (not part-time)
An SI split is generated for this attendance/absence. The employer pays the amount that is apportioned to the difference amount between the insured person's payment and the last contribution basis directly before the reduction of payments. - Pension contributions without SI days
An SI split is generated for this absence. Pension days, rather than SI days, are assigned to this SI split. During the absence, pension contributions for the continuation of pension insurance are paid based on a notional contribution basis. - Pension contributions without SI days (ER pays for EE)
This absence is the same as absence Pension contributions without SI days. However, the employer and employee contributions calculated on the basis of a notional contribution basis are all paid by the employer. - Pension contributions without SI days (EE pays for ER)
This absence is the same as absence Pension contributions without SI days. However, the employer and employee contributions calculated on the basis of a notional contribution basis are all paid by the employee.
For these special absences in the public sector, the special handling is adjusted depending on the current legal situation.

Activities
- Enter the grouping of the personnel subarea.
The grouping of personnel subareas for attendance/absence types is a setting for personnel subareas for which the same absence types and attendence types were defined.
- Enter the absences for which special handling is to apply.
- For each absence, select the relevant flag.
- Save your changes.
