The sequence of processing steps is defined in process models. A process model has the following advantages:

  • Clear overview of relationships between individual steps
  • Ability to create parallels of programs
  • Simple process iteration
  • Clear overview of the status of processes and personnel numbers
  • Simple navigation to the job log and program log

This process step allows you to define at least one process model. You can also change the SAP standard texts used by the mail notification function.

Requirements

You must have an overview of how subsequent activities are linked to payroll in your company.

A Workflow User should be set up in Basis customizing under Business Management -> SAP Business Workflow -> Maintain standard settings for SAP Business Workflow.

Standard settings

SAP provides some sample process models as part of the standard delivery.

Recommendation

Copy a SAP process model and modify it to suit the requirements of your company.

Activities

  1. Create your own process model:
    1. Choose action Maintain HR process model.
    2. Enter the model identifier for the process model you wish to copy and choose Copy.
    3. Enter the model identifier for the new process model and choose Change.
    4. Change the process model to suit the requirements of your company. For further information on process models please refer to Payroll in the SAP Library under Payroll in the SAP System -> Payroll in a Background Operation -> HR Process Workbench.
    5. Choose Activate.
  2. Choose action Maintain standard texts for mail connection .

    The following standard texts are available for the mail connection:

    • HRPM_MSG_ERROR
    • HRPM_MSG_INIT
    • HRPM_MSG_ABORTED
    • HRPM_MSG_ENDED
    • HRPM_MSG_STOPPED
    • HRPM_MSG_CONT

      These texts can be modified, or you can create your own new texts. If you create your own texts, you must use format HRPMMSG. The Text ID must be ST.

Further notes

Please note that the model identifiers of your own process models must start with numbers 0 - 9 or with the letter Z.
