Use

In this IMG activity, you create specific roles for Management of Internal Controls (MIC) and assign tasks to these roles. The tasks are delivered by SAP and cannot be modified.

Alternatively, you can edit the roles using a Web application, which you can call up from the MIC start page.

Note
The roles you edit here are not the same as those you create in the general SAP function for editing roles (see IMG activity Generate Role/Profile and Assign Users, transaction PFCG). Since a large number of people with various functions are involved in the management of internal controls and frequently change, the role concept needs be more flexible and more detailed.

For more information about the role concept for MIC, see the documentation in the SAP Library SAP ERP Central Component -> Accounting -> Management of Internal Controls -> Roles and Authorizations Concept.

Requirements

Standard settings

SAP delivers a number of example roles in a BC Set. To use them, you must activate the BC Set.

Activities

  1. Create Role

When you create a role, you enter an ID and a name, as well as the level for which this role has authorization. In this way, the role CEO, for example, authorizes the user to perform tasks that concern the entire corporate group. A user assigned to the role Process Owner, on the other hand, may only perform tasks at the process level.

  2. Assign Tasks

One of the important attributes of a task is the minimum role level, which determines the minimum level that a role must have before that particular task can be assigned to it. This means that the only tasks you can assign to a role are those with a minimum role level compatible with the role's level.
