Use
In this step you define the rules for the normalization of the name, street and house number of a business partner. The system uses the normalized values to find duplicates when you create a new business partner using the transaction FMCABP.
When a business partner is created or changed, the system normalizes their name (first name and last name for people and Name1 and Name2 for groups and organizations) and the street of the current valid standard address using the rules to be created here. The data is saved in the table DFK_NORM_BP. The normalized values of the house number and the additional house number are not saved. The system only uses these entries for finding duplicates.
When a string is normalized (such as name), you can define the order of the rules by entering an operation. A rule is applied from the beginning of a string to the end several times unless you have set the indicator so that the rules are only applied to the beginning or to the end of a string. Note that the rules must be maintained in capital and in small letters. Blank characters in a string are not taken into account.
Once the rules defined here have been processed, the system converts the string into capital letters and removes all double letters (AA-> A).
This function is only released for Public Sector Contract Accounting.
The BDT application FKDP in the transaction BUS1 must be activated if you want to use the duplicate search.
Note
The normalization rules should be set in Customizing rules once they have been tested successfully once. Changes made afterwards cause inconsistencies. If you want to change the rules for creating normalization values, carry out the mass activity Normalization of Business Partner for Duplicate Search (transaction FPNORMBP) all business partners. You also start this mass activity for all business partners that you created before the rules were maintained and the application FKDP was activated.
