In this activity, you define externalinsurance object categories (IO categories) and assign a number range and an internal IO category to each external IO category.

In this activity, you can also assign default values to the external IO categories. If you create an insurance object, the system takes these default values automatically as a proposal.

You have defined the number ranges for insurance objects in the Define Number Ranges IMG activity.

SAP delivers internal insurance object categories (insurance policy, broker contract, commission contract, claim number or deposit contract). These are specified by the system, and you cannot change the internal IO categories.
