Use

This Business Add-In (BAdI) is used in the Portfolio Management (PPM-PFM) component. You can use this BAdI to define metrics depending on the portfolio item type or initiative type, and thus enhance the existing Metrics Management where you can define metrics only on object type level.

After you have implemented this BAdI, you must carry out the following Customizing activities:

The system then calls this BAdI to get the portfolio-management-specific metrics, metrics groups, and metrics value types based on the item or initiative types you have defined in the above-mentioned Customizing activities. This BAdI uses the method GET_APPL_SPECIFIC_CONFIG, which finds all the portfolio-management-specific metrics groups, metrics, and metrics value types based on the input parameters for the object type, object GUID, and language. The method then reads the object to determine the item or initiative types based on the object GUID and object type passed as input parameters. Then the method reads the table to find the portfolio-management-specific metrics, metrics groups, and metrics value types based on the object type and item or initiative types.

After you have implemented this BAdI and have defined portfolio-management-specific metrics for a specific item or initiative type, these settings will override the Customizing settings made in the Customizing activity Define Metrics for all items or initiatives of that item or initiative type.
