Use
In this Customizing activity, you define the shared network folder that is used as a repository for Help Center files. Since you enter the complete path to the shared network folder here, you do not need to specify the path in the Help Center when creating a link to a file.
You have the option of providing different language versions of file content in subfolders of the network folder. In this case, the Help Center offers each user the language version corresponding to their logon language identifier. If a user calls a link for which no file is available in the appropriate language version, the system displays a message.
Alternatively, you can make the Help Center files available using an HTTP file interface instead of the network folder. However, once you have activated an HTTP file interface, you cannot undo this action.
Preparing the Shared Network Folder
It is a prerequisite for this setting that you prepare a shared network folder on a company server. If you want to manage the files by language, there must be a subfolder for each language used in the shared network folder. The name of each subfolder corresponds to the two-letter logon language identifier in accordance with ISO 639-1, for example "en" for English (not case-sensitive).
Caution: If you create subfolders in the language-dependent folders, all folder structures must be parallel and have the same name. All language versions of a file must have the same file name.
Searchability of Content in the Network Folder
To enable the Help Center search function to search the content of the network folder, enter the name of the logical path to the network folder. You must first create the logical path in the SAP system, in transaction FILE, for each of the operating systems (syntax groups) used in your system landscape, and assign it to the physical path.
Activities
- If you want to use the HTTP file interface, select the HTTP File Interface field.
- Enter the complete path for the shared network folder in the Path to Network Folder field.
- Optional: If you want to manage documents by language, choose Language-Dependent Folder Structure.
- If you want to use the network folder to store the Help Center files, enter the name of the logical path to the network folder that you created in the SAP system.
