Use

In this Customizing activity, you maintain benefit categories used in opportunity classification and opportunity management. A "benefit of an opportunity" can be regarded as the opposite of an "impact for a risk".

Two examples of benefit categories might be "improved reputation" and "increased revenue".

An opportunity is an event that that results in a gain to an organization by taking a risk. Once you have defined a benefit category, you can assign it to an opportunity in the RM application.

Activities

  1. Execute the Customizing activity Maintain Benefit Categories and choose New Entries.
  2. Enter the following:
    • An identifier for the benefit category in the ID field.
    • Name of the benefit category in the Category field.
    • Description of the benefit category in the Description field.
  3. Choose Save. The values appear in the Benefit Category table.
