Use

In this Customizing activity, you can specify the values for attributes of different objects (such as controls or risks). A distinction is made between the following types of attributes:

  • Attributes with values that you can specify freely, such as testing techniques
  • Attributes with values that are dependent on other attributes, such as control objective categories that are further broken down by control types
  • Attributes with values that are fixed and delivered by SAP. For these, such as rating, you can only change the name.

The attribute values you specify here become the values available for selection and reporting in the application. Plan changes to attributes to take place either during the implementation or the beginning of a period. This way, reporting remains consistent. New values will be available for current and future assignment to objects.

Activities

SAP delivers sample attribute values via Business Configuration (BC) Sets. The use of BC Sets is not required, but can speed implementation. After you activate the relevant BC Sets, you can make changes:

  1. Choose the attribute to edit.
  2. Double-click the Values folder.
  3. Choose either New Entries or Delete. You can also change the text of the delivered samples.
  4. Make your changes.

Attributes with values that are dependent on other attributes – there is one attribute in this section that creates a dependency between control objective categories and related control types. No other dependent attributes can be created in this section.

Multiple Control Objective Categories are delivered. You can create additional categories by:

  1. The section, Values Permitted for Dependent Attribute, are Control Types (CO-CTYPE). They must be created in the first section of attributes before they can be assigned to a Control Objective Category. Click the box to the left of Type of Control.
  2. Click Values on the left below Attributes.
  3. Click New Entries.
  4. Type your entry.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Click Attributes with Dependent Attributes.
  7. Click the box to the left of the attribute Control Objective Category (CO-OBJCAT)
  8. Click the second subsection, labeled Values, below Attributes with Dependent Attributes.
  9. Click New Entries. Type in the new control objective category you need to create. Save it.
  10. Use the F4 value help to display your choices. Select the Control Type CO-CTYPE you created above. Click Save.

A similar procedure creates a relationship between a previously existing control objective category and control types.

The control type you created is available only for control objectives with the control objective category to which you assigned the control type.

Attributes with values that are fixed and delivered by SAP allow only changes to the name, such as ratings. These attributes have complex coding associated with them. Therefore, you are not able to add additional values or delete existing values.

Change the names of the values

  1. Double-click Attributes with Fixed Values.
  2. Click on the box to the left of the attribute you want to edit.
  3. Double-click Names below the Attributes with Fixed Values.
  4. Change the text for any values and select the Save icon.
