Activities

To enhance the data storage:

  1. Select the Database Table field, and enter the table name, for example, GRRMRESPONSE.
  2. Choose Display.
  3. Search the list of components for table GRRMRESPONSE At the bottom, locate the customer include, where you can add your own fields.

This example focuses on enhancing issues using the structure CI_GRRM_RESPONSE. The structure, which is used within the table, must first be created. You can create the structure as follows:

  1. Select the structure CI_GRRM_RESPONSE.
A dialog box appears, prompting you to confirm if you want to create the structure.
  2. Confirm that you want to create it.
  3. Enter a description, and then enter the following fields:
    • ZZ_KEYDATE of type ZRM_ISSUE_KEYDATE
    • ZZ_ISSUEKIND of type ZRM_ISSUE_KIND

Note: You must follow the guidelines listed below while defining the field name:
    • All field names must be prefixed with ZZ (or YY) to ensure that they do not overlap with the delivered SAP field names.
    • All field names must be unique. All customer fields are used in the global reporting structure. If the same field name is used twice, it causes problems.
    • A field name must not be longer than 16 characters; else the customer include structure cannot be activated.

Note: For the structure CI_GRRM_RESPONSE, you must enter information about the Enhancement Category. This is required because the customer include structure is already an enhancement structure, and cannot be further enhanced. To enter the enhancement category, choose Extras --> Enhancement Category. In the window that appears, select Cannot Be Enhanced and then choose Copy.
    • Save, check, and activate the structure.

In addition to activating your structure, several dependent structures and database tables are reactivated also, as they include the structure CI_GRRM_RESPONSE.. You must have sufficient authorization to activate the database tables (for example, the authorization object S_DEVELOP, with fields OBJTYPE=TABL and ACTVT=07). After the activation, you receive a warning to inform you about the dependent tables that are implicitly activated with CI_GRRM_RESPONSE.

The case objects for the issues are now enhanced with this additional field.
