Use

In this Customizing activity, you can generate the complete infotype.

Requirements

You have created the dictionary structure for the new infotype.

Standard settings

Activities

To generate infotypes, you must do the following:

  1. Create the infotype
  2. Add data to objects

Creating Infotypes

  1. Select the Infotype field, and enter the infotype, for example, 9101.
  2. Enter the name, and then choose Create.
  3. Select Field infotype, and then choose Create to create all the dependent entries.

Note: Do not change the Language and Country-dependency settings.

  4. Upon the confirmation that the infotype is created, ensure the info type is visible under the context for Risk Management or Process Control objects (in this case, the control) by navigating to the initial screen of transaction PPCI, and then choosing Change.

A tree structure appears and displays all the editable aspects of the infotype. The green entries are satisfactory. They were generated automatically by the transaction PPCI within the creation of the infotype.

  5. Do the following to correct the orange entries, as required:
    1. Position the cursor at the entry T777I and choose Edit. This starts transaction SM30 (Maintain Table Views).
    2. Choose Maintain.
    3. Select the infotype 9101, and select Time constraint.
    4. Choose New Entries.
    5. Enter the required fields with the following values: P2, 9101, <nothing>, and 1.
    6. Confirm the warning, that the P2 is not your namespace, and save the entry.

Notes: About Settings:

  • P2 is a Local control. Other object types that exist are: Reference control (P3), which does not contain any data, and Central control (P5). You can create an additional entry for the central process steps using the P5 9101 and next object types. That is, infotype and the related fields refer both to the central and the local control objects.
  • Infotype 9101 is the one used in the example.
  • Subtypes are not used in the example. Keep this field empty.
  • There exist several possible time constraints, but only a few of them are relevant for Process Control or Risk Management:
    • If the value is 1, it indicates time-dependent without gaps. This is the most probable variant. In such a case, for a given date, the relationship of the object and the infotype record is 1:1.
    • If the value is 2, it indicates time-dependent with gaps. This is similar to 1. In such a case, for a given date, the relationship of the object and the infotype record is 1:0 in each point of time (There is either one infotype record or no infotype record at each point in time).
    • If the value is 3, it indicates multiple values at any time. This is better for tabular data, where the relationship between the object and infotype record is 1:N. For a given date, one object can be related with zero, one, or multiple records.

  1. Maintain the second grouping of settings: infotypes for each object type. You must include entries for the object types P2 and P5. In addition to this, you must always enter the infotype as 9101, and leave the remaining fields empty.
  2. Save, and then exit the transaction.
  3. Start transaction PPCI in Change mode. Confirm that the entries T777I and T777Z are now green.
  4. To add the new fields in the screen for transaction GRFN_STR_CHANGE, do the following:
    1. Navigate to the start page of transaction PPCI.
    2. Select your info type and choose Create.
    3. Select Infotype ->Create Subscreen.

The system generates the data storage. The data objects are attached to the Process Control and the Risk Management objects, as required. These are time-dependent in nature, as is most Process Control and Risk Management data.

Adding Data to the Objects

The following lists Process Control and Risk Management objects that can be enhanced within HR Organizational data tables:

ID    Description        ID    Description

O    Organization        P7    Entity-Level Control

P0     Local Process        P9    Local Entity-Level Control

P1    Local Subprocess        PK    Central Process

P2    Local Control        PL    Central Subprocess

P3    Referenced Control        PM    Control Objective

P5    Central Control        O1    Central Risk

P6    Account Group        OF    Risk

PQ    Test Plan        O0    Risk Category

To check the new data storage and add data to the objects, do the following:

  1. Start transaction PP01.
Enter the plan version, for example, 01.
  2. Select the object you want to see, for example, select Local Control, and P2.
  3. Enter the object ID. The object ID is different in every system; press F4 to display the list of object IDs.
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Maintain the infotypes as required.

If you want to only enhance data storage and maintain the fields automatically or by using PP01, then you are finished. If you want to allow the end-users to maintain the fields complete the tasks in Customizing activity Generate Subtypes..
