Use

In this Customizing activity, you specify whether a reevaluation is required or not after all issues are closed. This also includes, as an option, setting the time lag for a reevaluation. It is common that reevaluations are performed only after there is sufficient data after remediation was completed.

This function provides a method for adjusting the time lag for the reevaluation based upon the frequency of operation of the control.

Requirements

Standard settings

The reevaluation settings are all active in the standard system. No time lags are created, so if reassessment or retest is enabled, the reassessment or retest tasks are sent immediately after all issues for an evaluation are closed.

Activities

  1. Go to the activity node and select Activate for the evaluation if you wish the reevaluation workflow to be sent after all issues are closed. If you do not want a reevaluation, ensure that Activate is not selected.
  2. Optional - Double-click the Frequency-Time lag node. Click the New Entry button, input the frequency and maintain the time lag according to the frequency.
  3. If you have not provided time lag settings, the activated reassessment or retest occurs immediately after all issues are closed. If you have provided time lag settings, the system takes these into account based upon the Frequency field in the control and the Time Lag as configured.

Example

Retest of Control Effectiveness    Frequency    Activated Time Lag

0DAY    Daily        15

0WEK     Weekly        21

0MON    Monthly        61

For a control with a frequency of "daily", the retest task is set 15 days after all issues for the control are closed.

Note: Any frequencies which are not set up or are created with a time lag of 0 are retested immediately after all issues for the control are closed.
