Use

In this Customizing activity, you perform the activities required so that workflows can be executed. The SAP Business Workflow forms the platform for assessing and testing internal controls.

The following nodes must have every task marked with a green check:

  • Maintain Runtime Environment
  • Classify Tasks as General

Requirements

You have authorization for the authorization profile SAP_ALL.

Standard settings

Activities

The system makes all necessary settings when you position the cursor on a node and choose F9. After the automatic configuration, perform the following change:

  1. Select Maintain Runtime Environment.
  2. Choose Perform Automatic Workflow Customizing (F9).

    Note: If you receive a message that the Background Job is not scheduled, verify you have SAP_ALL authorizations. This step executes all the steps below. For example, it generates the user WF-BATCH. Verify all tasks below Maintain Runtime Environment have green checks. Under Maintain Runtime Environment, select the node Schedule Background Job for Missed Deadlines, and choose Execute.

  3. Set the interval until the next deadline check to 20 minutes.
  4. Choose Save and Schedule.
  5. Press F5 to begin the workflow verification. You must run the workflow verification after the automatic workflow customizing is finished.
  6. Choose SAP Business Workplace (Ctrl + F12).
  7. Under the Inbox folder, select Workflow.
  8. Select the first Workflow task on the righthand side.
  9. Choose Execute Background Step Immediately.
  10. Open the Unread Documents folder. Verify you have received two messages in your inbox indicating the workflow has been customized correctly.

Note: If there are any issues, ensure the top section is green and contact your Basis administrator or someone with workflow knowledge to troubleshoot the problem.
