Use

In this Customizing activity, you can define policy types and then assign distribution methods to the policy types. The distribution method determines the form of communication used for sending the policy notification.

Activities

Maintaining the policy type and description:

  1. To create a new policy type, choose New Entries.
    To change a policy type and description, select a policy type and choose Change.
  2. Maintain the policy type and description.
    In the front end, the policy type appears in a dropdown list on the screen for creating policies.
  3. Save the entry.

Maintaining the distribution method:

  1. Select a policy type and double-click Distribution Method in the left navigation pane.
  2. Select a distribution method from the dropdown. You can select from the following distribution methods:
    • Acknowledge
      After the policy is distributed, the requestor receives a notification, and can then choose Yes or No, as required.
    • Quiz
      A list of questions to determine if the recipient understood the policy.
    • Survey
      A questionnaire and request for comments from the recipient.
  3. Maintain the distribution method for each policy type.
  4. Choose Save and then exit the activity.

Example

For the policy type Work Instructions, you can select a Quiz distribution method to confirm if the recipient understands the instructions.
