Use

This organizational activity describes how to create search object connectors using a search object connector template. Search object connectors establish the runtime connection between the search provider and SAP NetWeaver Enterprise Search; thus providing search access to specific search object types at a specific destination.

Process Control and Risk Management provide the Search Connector Template under the Software Component GRCFND_A. The templates consists of a node that provides the following:

  • Object data for indexing
  • Object attributes for the search criteria to be used.

You can find a list of templates in Process Control Application Help under SAP Process Control > Work Centers > My Home > Search > Object Search.

To ensure that the objects in the search object connectors are available in the search, you must start or schedule their indexing as described under Activities below.

Requirements

You must have necessary authorization for the SAP_ESH_LOCAL_ADMIN role.

Creating Search Object Connectors

To create search object connectors, perform the following steps:

  1. Set the TREX destination in activity Set TREX Destination.
  2. Activate the required Web Dynpro services in activity Activate Web Dynpro Services.
  3. Maintain the implementations for object data extraction in Implementation: Extract Object Data under SAP Customizing Implementation Guide > Governance, Risk and Compliance > General Settings > Search.
  4. In activity Maintain Reporting Datamart, set a specific timeframe so that the search can read data from the reporting datamart. For example, to enable Enterprise Search for organization unit, you need to create a datamart entry with timeframe "0SAP_YEAR".
  5. In activity Open Administration Cockpit, manage and schedule indexing of search object connectors.
