Use

In this Customizing activity, you can create, display, change, and delete the policy objects including policies and policy groups.

Note: You can view action view actions logs via transaction SLG1 with the Input Object as GRFN and Subobject as POLICY.

Activities

Creating policy groups

  1. Choose Display/Change to enter into Change mode.
  2. Choose Create Policy Group.
    The Create Policy Group window appears.
  3. In the Parent Policy Group field, enter the name of the parent group, and then choose Create.
  4. In the Detail area, enter the policy group detail information.
  5. Choose Save.

Creating policy objects

  1. Choose Display/Change to enter into Change mode.
  2. Choose Create Policy.
    The Create Policy window appears.
  3. Select the Policy Group Name and Policy Type, and then choose Create Policy.
  4. In the Detail area, enter the policy detail information.
  5. Choose Save.

Searching for policies and policy groups

  1. In the left-hand pane, choose Search by name. The Search window appears.
  2. Enter the name of the policy or policy group, and then choose Find.
    The search results are displayed in the left-hand pane, under the Hit List section.
  3. Double-click the object to display it and the related objects in the policy information tree.

Displaying and changing policies and policy groups

  1. Search for the policy or policy group.
  2. Under the Hit List, double-click the object to display it in the information tree.
  3. Double-click the policy objects in the policy information tree control to display the detail information.
  4. To change the policy object, choose Change/Display.
  5. Edit the policy object as needed, and then choose Save.

Generating new policy versions

  1. Choose Display/Change to enter into Change mode.
  2. Search for the policy.
  3. Under the Hit List, double-click the policy object to display it in the policy information tree.
    The policy information tree displays all the versions for the selected policy object.
  4. Right-click the policy object, and then choose Generate New Version.
  5. In the Detail area of the new version, enter the relevant details informatioin.
  6. Choose Save.

Deleting policy versions

  1. Choose Display/Change to enter into Change mode.
  2. Search for the policy.
  3. Under the Hit List, double-click the policy object to display it in the policy information tree.
    The policy information tree displays all the versions for the selected policy object.
  4. Right-click the policy version, and then choose Delete > Delete Current Policy Version.
  5. Choose Save.

Deleting policies

  1. Choose Display/Change to enter into Change mode.
  2. Search for the policy.
  3. Under the Hit List, double-click the policy object to display it in the policy information tree.
    The policy information tree displays all the versions for the selected policy object.
  4. Right-click the policy object, and then choose Delete > Delete Policy With All Versions.
  5. Choose Save.

Deleting policy groups

  1. Choose Display/Change to enter into Change mode.
  2. Search for the policy group.
  3. Under the Hit List, double-click the policy group to display it in the policy information tree.
    The policy information tree displays all the policy groups and objects for the selected policy group.
  4. Right-click the policy group, and then choose Delete > Delete Policy Group.

    If the selected policy group contains policy objects, you must move the objects to another group. A popup window appears. Select a policy group to which you can move the policy objects.

  5. Choose Save.
