Use
In this Customizing activity, you maintain the impact levels used in risk analysis, as well as the benefit levels to be used in opportunity analysis.
An impact level is an estimation of the consequences of a particular risk on the basis of a configurable scale. This scale can range, for example, from insignificant to catastrophic.
Besides being used in risk analysis, impact levels are also used to define the risk thresholds of an organization.
Requirements
In the Customizing activity Maintain Analysis Profile, you must define the aggregation method.
Standard settings
Activities
- Click on New Entries and enter a number for the impact or benefit level you want to define.
- Enter an impact score: This is a numeric value corresponding to the mean value of a particular impact level.
- Enter a text for the impact and benefit levels in the corresponding columns, ranging from insignificant to catastrophic, for example.
- Enter a text for the impact/benefit levels for this impact level.
- Save your entry.
Example
You have defined the settings as follows: The impact level 3 corresponds to a moderate impact and has the score 50. If a user enters the score 60 in the application, this still remains within impact level 3, but if the user enters the score of 70, the impact level corresponding to this is impact level 4 ("major impact"). The score value therefore represents the middle of the interval.
