In this step of the IMG, you organize budget structure element types into a hierarchical structure.
Example
In your overall budget, you have budget structure elements called 0001 - Level 1, 0002 - Level 2 and 0003 - Level 3.
Budget structure element 0002 - Level 2 should appear below budget structure element 0001 - Level 1, and above budget structure element 0003 - Level 3.
In this case, you would define the budget structure element hierarchy as follows in the hierarchy table:

Requirements
You must have defined budget structure element types in the previous step.
Activities
In order to define the hierarchy of budget structure element types, proceed as follows:
- Choose New entries.
- In the Budget structure element type field, specify the budget structure element type that should appear at the top of the hierarchy.
- Assign the next budget structure element down to the budget structure element type defined in step 2 above by entering its key in the Assigned budget structure element type field.
- Continue defining the hierarchy by repeating steps 2 and 3 above.
- When you have defined the entire hierarchy, choose Save.
