Use
In this Customizing activity, you can adjust the messages output during the validation of data for FIN-MDM, or define new messages for use with the BAdI implementations for validation.
Requirements
You are either using the standard data model 0G, or you have created a copy of this model under a new name, such as ZG. In the latter case, you should use the enhancement implementation USMDZ7_RULE_SERVICE (transaction SE18). You can use the BAdI implementation it contains, or use it as a template for your own BAdI implementations. In this case, you need to set the corresponding filter value ZG for the new BAdI.
Standard settings
The necessary Customizing on the FIN-MDM system is stored under Master Data Governance -> Master Data Governance for Financials -> Data Modeling.
Three check types are defined in the Check Levels of Validation dialog, corresponding to the three levels at which validation is called:
- CR Change Request
- ED Edition
- EN Single Maintenance (Entity)
In the Work Areas for Configurable Messages dialog, you can choose the package USMDZ3 delivered by SAP. In the Configurable System Messages subdialog, you then see the system messages defined by SAP.
Activities
Choose the entry USMDZ3 in the Work Areas for Configurable Messages. In the Configurable System Messages subdialog, you can then change the delivered system messages and add your own messages. For each message, define the allowed message types and the standard message type.
The message types are as follows:
- E: Error
- W: Warning
- I: Information
Under Change Message Type for Validations, you can redefine the message type for each level (change request, edition, single maintenance). You are thus able to output a message as an information or warning message in one error situation and as an error in another.
