Use
In this Customizing activity, you can redefine the message type for validation messages from the relevant BAdI implementation. For each message, you can define the respective message type for the different check levels (Change Request, Edition, Single Maintenance). This means that a particular message could have the message type Warning when the error situation is determined during data input, but then get the message type Error during the validation of the edition that contains this data.
Requirements
The data model is defined.
The messages are configured in the Customizing activity Make Basic Settings for Controlling Validations.
Standard settings
The necessary Customizing on the FIN-MDM system is stored under Master Data Governance -> Master Data Governance for Financials -> Data Modeling.
For the data model 0G, the standard settings (application area USMDZ3) contain several messages with changed message types.
Activities
Start the activity Change Message Type for Validations, and choose the application area USMDZ3.
In the Maintain Control of Message Type by User, choose the message you want to adjust, or add new entries for other messages. For the entry currently selected in the list of messages, you can then redefine the required message type for each check level (Change Request, Edition, Single Maintenance) in the Main Control of Message Type for Check Level subdialog. Note that the message type must always be defined for all three check levels. This entry is therefore mandatory.
The message types are as follows:
o E: Error
o W: Warning
o I: Information
The message types available for a message are taken from the allowed message types set in the system (under Configurable System Messages). If you do not redefine the message types for a message, the set standard message type applies for all three check levels.
