Use

In this activity, you create the master data packages for distribution to the transactional systems.

Here you determine how the data is to be distributed - that is, which entity types of the data model are to be considered and which distribution service is to be used.

You also define whether all data or just the changed data is distributed.

Requirements

The following prerequisites must be met:

  • You have defined the required distribution services.
  • You have defined the data model for which you want to create the master data packages.

Standard settings

Activities

  1. Under Master Data Packages, define a master data package and assign it to a data model.
  2. Under Related Entity Types, specify the entity types that should be considered for the distribution of data.
  3. Under Steps in the Process, define the distribution steps and the distribution service for the master data package. Also specify whether all data or just the changed data is to be distributed.
    During distribution, the steps are executed in the order in which they are listed here.

Example

You want to create master data packages to distribute general ledger accounts. To do this, you proceed as follows:

  1. Create a master data package to distribute the G/L accounts using the enterprise services delivered by SAP.
  2. Assign the entity types of the G/L accounts to the master data package in your data model.
  3. Define the following distribution steps:
    • Distribution using the distribution service for GeneralLedgerAccountMaster to distribute the first part of the data
    • Distribution using the distribution service for ChartOfAccounts to distribute the second part of the data
    • Distribution using the distribution service for FinancialReportingStructure to distribute the hierarchy structureo
