Use
In this Customizing activity you create the change request step numbers for your workflow and enter a short description for them.
For example, to be able to assign different workflow processors at different places to a workflow task that occurs several times in the workflow, you need your own change request step number for each of these dialog steps (of the workflow tasks).
The change request step numbers you created are then available when you assign the change request step number and processor. You can find the step numbers in the input help in Customizing activity Assign Processor to Change Request Step Number (Simple Workflow).
Change request step number 0 identifies the change request step of a change request in which data was been entered, but not yet saved, and no workflow template has been instantiated yet. Therefore, you can not enter the change request step number 0 in the Step Number column.
Requirements
You have made the Customizing settings for the workflow.
Standard settings
SAP delivers change request steps that are suitable for the standard workflow templates, which are also delivered.
Activities
To define a change request step, specify the change request step number and enter a short description.
Example
You want to insert a new step into the workflow called Approval by the Executive Board, which is to be run only in certain cases. To do this, you proceed as follows:
- Create a new step for the workflow.
- Enter the change request step number and description in this Customizing activity.
- Modify the workflow template so that the new step is called under the desired conditions. When doing this, you use the new step for the change request using the functions of the business object for Master Data Governance.
- Assign the suitable organizational unit for the executive board as the processor to the step. Use Customizing activity Assign Processor to Change Requst Step Number (Simple Workflow) to make this assignment.
