Use

In this Customizing activity, you make the following settings for a selected data model for each entity type:

• You define which key fields and attributes the system is to use for the authorization check. You use the Authorization Relevant checkbox to select the relevant entries. In the Key column of the Authorization for Entity Types view, the system groups the entity type and its higher-level entity types.

The system uses the settings when processing roles. You can change the authorization data for a role by assigning the authorization object and configuring the authorizations for each data model and entity type.

Requirements

You are using a valid data model.

You can select a maximum of seven entries as authorization-relevant for an entity type in these two views. The more entries that you select, the more options you have for editing roles.

Activities

For each entity type, use the Authorization Relevant checkbox to select which key fields and attributes are to be relevant for editing role-specific authorizations.

Example

• In the Authorizations for Entity Types view, you select the Authorization Relevant checkbox for an entity type and six higher-level entity types.
• Alternatively, in the Authorizations for Entity Types view, you select the Authorization Relevant checkbox for an entity type and for two higher-level entity types, and for four attributes in the Authorization-Relevant Attributes view.
