In this Customizing activity, you can define the significance of internal control tasks.
SAP Financial Closing cockpit supports all kinds of tasks. Tasks such as asset depreciation and inventory valuation are normal closing tasks. Tasks such as reconciliation and checking for configuration changes are internal control tasks. There can be dependencies between these kinds of tasks.
To use internal control in the Financial Closing cockpit application, you define processes and sub-processes as folders while you define internal controls as tasks within these folders. You can describe internal control processes in documents in various formats, such as PDF and DOC, and attach them to internal control tasks in a template. When you create task lists from that template, the documents, along with the tasks, are copied to the task lists. You can add additional documents during the preparation or the execution phase. The Financial Closing cockpit also supports automatic documentation of task execution information in job log, spool list, and other media. All the documents are stored securely in the Financial Closing cockpit.
Internal control tasks have specific properties. SAP delivers three properties for internal control tasks: significance, automation and purpose. For each property, SAP delivers two or three values, which are represented in numbers. You can define new values represented in letters from A to Z.
