Use

This process describes the main steps for distributing data from SAP Financial and Controlling (FI-CO) to SAP Portfolio and Project Management.

To perform the daily transport of cost and budget data, you can use the report RPM_FIN02, which you can schedule as a background job. The link between the cost objects in the SAP FI-CO system and the project structure elements in the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system must be maintained in the SAP Portfolio and Project Management front-end application or generated by SAP PLM PS import.

You can transfer the quantity information stored under some FI-CO cost elements to the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system. For example, you can transfer planned/actual work time with the value type actual/planned time. To do this, perform the following steps in the SAP FI-CO system:

  1. Enter the cost elements or cost element intervals under the value type AT (applicable only for the value type Actual Time) in the customizing view V_RPM_VALTYPC. This view is also used to reject a particular cost element or a range of cost elements from being processed during the financial import process for a particular value type, such as Planned Cost, Actual Cost, Plan Time, Actual Time, Budget. In this case, set the Exclude indicator.
  2. Maintain the conversion factor between the quantity unit used for these cost elements in the SAP R/3 FI-CO system and the time unit used in the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system in the view RPM_TIMCV.

You must execute the report RPM_FIN02 to perform the financial import from the base project system to the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system.

You enter the logical system of the SAP Portfolio and Project Management system (that is, the RFC destination) on the selection screen in the Destination System field.

  • If the parameter Actual Costs/Budgets is set to X, only actual cost and budget data is transferred.
  • If the parameter Actual Costs/Budgets is initial, other types of data such as planned costs are also transferred.

If you have more than one controlling area in your SAP FI-CO system for which you want to transfer costs to SAP Portfolio and Project Management, you can start this program separately.

You can specify a range of Project IDs for which financial import needs to be performed. If the indicator for settlement credits is set, then settlement credits are excluded. If you have maintained other versions (standard is version '000'), then they can also be transferred to SAP Portfolio and Project Management.
