Use
In this Customizing activity, you define product or process characteristics that are to be monitored in the control plan.
You can either use the master inspection characteristics from an SAP Quality Management system or define the control plan characteristics in the project management system. You can specify a group and a rating for the characteristics defined in the project management system.
When you create a new control plan without using a template, the current source system setting is transferred from Customizing. If you use a template, the system copies the appropriate setting from the template. You cannot change the source system once the control plan has been created.

Activities
If you want to use the master inspection characteristics from the QM system, you have to select the Use QM Master Inspection Chars from SAP System checkbox in the Activate Integration of QM Master Inspection Characteristics view and define an RFC destination.
If you want to use the control plan characteristics from the project management system, you have to deselect the Use QM Master Inspection Chars from SAP System checkbox in the Activate Integration of QM Master Inspection Characteristics view and define the characteristics in the Master Data Table for Control Plan Characteristics view.
