There are three Customizing activities that comprise the Structural Authorization IMG configuration:

Create Authorization Profile - In this Customizing activity you define structural authorizations, which are also checked.
Assign Authorization Profiles to Users - In this Customizing activity you assign a specific authorization profile to the users on a time-dependent basis.
Save User Data in SAP Memory - In this step, you specify users for whom structural authorization data should be permanently stored in SAP Memory.

In addition, two BAdIs are provided to allow for customer-specific Customizing activities.
