Use

These Customizing settings are used in the following cases:

  1. If a proxy server is to be used. These URLs are used instead of the one determined by the system if URLs are generated from the application and are then called by a different application, for example, cFolders. The SAP NetWeaver Application Server does not have the necessary information about the proxy.
  2. These URLs are used to create corresponding links in alerts or e-mail messages. To create the links, the system calls methods that use the settings made in this Customizing activity.
  3. The URLs mentioned in the second case above are also available in the Add to Browser Favorites dialog box.

NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) for HTML:

  • If you are using a local server and not a proxy server, you do not need to define any URL here. In this case, the URL is determined by the system.
  • If you are using a proxy server, enter an absolute URL for calling Project Management in this Customizing activity. If you enter an absolute URL, the system returns it on request. If you request an absolute URL but have not specified an absolute URL, the system response depends on whether the Ignore Default checkbox is selected. If the checkbox is selected, no URL is returned. If this checkbox is not selected, the URL determined by the system is returned as absolute URL.

SAP NetWeaver Portal:

If you are using SAP NetWeaver Portal, enter an absolute portal URL. If you enter an absolute portal URL, the system returns it on request; otherwise no URL is returned.

NWBC for Desktop:

If you are using NWBC for Desktop, enter an absolute NWBC Desktop URL. If you enter an absolute NWBC Desktop URL, the system returns it on request; otherwise no URL is returned.
